Who is Traveling With You?

I am solo but often travel with others.

How Long Have You Been On The Road?

I’ve been on the road since December 2015 spending most of my time with friends out west and in Missouri with family and friends.

Are You Part Time or Full Time?

I have been full time since December 2015

What Kind of RV Do You Have?

I recently purchased a van and will be building it out as my full-time home. I started with an old 35’ Class A then went to a 32’ fifth wheel and I’m now in a 21’ van.

What Got You Interested In Living The RV Life?

Traveling the country in an RV has been a dream since I was young. After I retired there was nothing keeping me from hitting the road, so my new nomadic life began.

How Do You Fund Your Travels?

After 22 years of service I retired from the Air Force in 2014. I receive a modest pension which allows me to enjoy this lifestyle. It’s not a lot of money so I say, “I live frugal and free”.

What is Your Camping Style?

I mostly boondock but also enjoy state and national parks.  Occasionally I’ll go to a campground or resort and have FHU.

What Do You Seek Out When Traveling?

I enjoy museums, hiking, water sports, off roading, and breweries.

What Has Been Your Favorite Experience So Far?

That’s a hard one but I’m going to say my most life changing experience was attending my first Xscapers gathering at Dome Rock in Quartzsite, AZ. I had an amazing time finding this community and the club has become a huge part of my life.

What Has Been The Hardest Aspect For You While Traveling?

Before I found the club, and being solo, there were some pretty lonely times. Other than that, just the typical challenges any RVer faces.

How Many Xscapers Convergences Have You Attended?

I’m really not sure, probably about 20 now. I’ve been to every bash.

Are You Introverted or Extroverted?

I have my quiet times but I’m an extrovert for sure. I’m the guy always trying to get everyone together for a hike, yard game, potluck, fire, pretty much anything that will bring everyone together.

Tell Us Something Weird or Fun About Yourselves.

My friends would have more interesting comments to these questions than me but I guess just that I love to laugh. I’m always trying to laugh and to make others laugh.

Would You Rather Deal With A Leaky Sewer Hose or a Flat Tire on the RV?

Definitely the hose. I’ve changed too many tires on the side of the highway.

Do You Have Any Advice For Others / What is the Best Piece of Advice You’ve Received?

The first two most important lessons of the road I learned are that road karma is real and to slow down. As a full timer we aren’t on vacation, this is our life, slow down and enjoy it.

Where Can People Find You Online If They Want To Follow Your Travels?

I’m active on Facebook but better yet find me at a convergence and say hello. There’s a good chance I’ll approach you. I’m known for randomly joining conversations and for connecting people.
