18 Vanlife Influencers You Need To Know

Vanlife has slowly become the new popular hashtag on social media channels and is quickly becoming a preferred way to travel for many people across the US. With tiny roots and simplicity at its core- living the vanlife is all about how to live in a van comfortably, while exploring, working and molding your adventures along the way.

Currently Instagram seems to be the best social channel with over 13 million posts using the hashtag #vanlife on the platform! What we’re seeing is an increased desire to go beyond the norm and follow a path less often traveled, which for many has led to living in their home on wheels! Vanlifers (vandweller) choose to live in a van for many different reasons, and many are documenting the entire journey for us all to follow along.

Starting with the reasons people choose van life to how to convert your own van, where to find vans for sale, as well as the more serious questions like legalities and how to use the bathroom in a van are all topics people find fascinating to not only learn about for themselves in the pursuit of living in a van one day, but also just because they are curious!

Today we’re featuring Vanlife influencers we just know you’ll enjoy keeping up with! If you want more information on living tiny- check out our ultimate guide to living tiny which includes the pros and cons of living in a van, skoolie, RV, and tiny home!

Theses van lifers all have their own special sauce and we think it’s fun to highlight people doing things differently, who also offer great information to the travel community.

While we wanted to satisfy our own wanderlust, we also wanted our daughter to experience life firsthand instead of just seeing it in a book or on a screen. We are lovers of hiking, plants, beaches, plant-based foods, and Star Wars

10. Morgan & Hannah

Nomadic Tortoise

18 Vanlife Influencers You Need To Know 10

We’ve been living tiny for the past 4 years. Starting with a 1971 Blue Bird Wanderlodge that we restored. In the spring of 2020, Morgan was diagnosed with cancer. During chemotherapy, we decided a bus was too much for us and that we wanted to go smaller and simpler.

Once in remission, we sold our Wanderlodge and bought a 2015 Ford Transit van to convert. It took us six months to build out our van before we could hit the road. We travel with two pets, our Mini Australian shepherd, Odie, and our cat, Honey.

Nomad Brad is now helping others transition into VanLife and avoid the same (sometimes costly) mistakes that he did. His mission is to help other free-thinking, adventurous souls create more freedom while navigating the VanLife experience.

Project Van Life

18 Vanlife Influencers You Need To Know 12

I work at Project Van Life. My role is CEO/CMO. I’m the one who was responsible for growing our social media to the large size that it is today. I did this by focusing on what the community wants.

I spend most of my time studying the problems, pains, and concerns of existing vanlifers and those who are interested in getting into van life. I then figure out how we can create highly valuable content that provides solutions to these problems in the most convenient way possible.
