Escapees RV Parks vs Escapees Co-Ops

Before we dive into the different RV parking and camping opportunities available to members, let’s differentiate between Escapees RV Parks and Escapees Co-Op Parks.

Escapees RV Parks are club-owned RV parks that are open to both members and non-members alike, and members get discounts on their stay.

SKP Co-Ops (or Escapees Co-Ops) are RV parks that were formed with the help of Escapees RV Club, but they are independently owned and operated by Escapees members. SKP Co-Ops are only open to Escapees members and each is operated differently, governed by its own elected board of directors.

Escapees RV Parks

Most Escapees RV Parks have options like dry camping or full hookups, short-term RV parking, monthly RV parking, long-term leases, and some even have deeded lots.

Escapees SKP Co-Op Parks

There are 11 SKP Co-Ops in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, Washington, Texas, and Florida.

The Co-Ops are owned and operated by members and campsites are only open to members, so you’ll be surrounded by fellow Escapees at each stay.

These parks are favored destinations among many members. Some even offer a first-timer’s special that provides discounts for your first stay. Check the specific park websites for availability and more detailed information.

Discount Park Directory

The Discount Park Directory is a directory of over 800 RV parks across the US, Canada, and Mexico. These parks are independently owned and have partnered with us to offer you discounts on camping. Discounts range from 15-50% depending on the campground.

So we’ve developed our educational programs, courses, and articles to help you along your entire journey of owning and traveling in an RV.

9. Learn More About Escapees RV Club, Our Founders, and What We Stand For

New Member Guide: How To Get The Most Out Of Your Escapees RV Club Membership 27

Joe and Kay Peterson founded Escapees RV Club in 1978, and we are still family-led today. The Club began as a 5-page newsletter printed on a hand-cranked portable printer and mailed to 164 founding members.

This newsletter paved the way for Escapees to become one of the largest and most recognized clubs for RV enthusiasts today, with over 70k members and growing.

What began as a newsletter to connect full-time RVers in a time before cell phones and the internet has grown into what we are today: a total support network for all RVers.

The Club was founded on the 4th of July, 1978 – and that’s no coincidence.

Joe and Kay valued the sense of freedom and independence of the RV life, just as many RV enthusiasts do today.

“Most people only get to enjoy the history and beauty of America during their vacations, but as an RVer this can be your daily life.”

Escapees RV Club: Then and Now

Escapees has and always will be freedom driven. We will always specialize in services that cater to your unique needs so you can live a successful and carefree RV lifestyle.

Not only do we accomplish this through our services and benefits like the Mail Service, Roadside Assistance, RV parking options, and more – but Escapees has long been involved in RVer advocacy, too.

From protecting full-time RVers right to vote, protecting the right to overnight parking options, battling unfair RV-specific taxes, and more, we go to bat for every RV enthusiast when it matters most.
