Grouper helps cover membership dues for Escapees members on eligible Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans and keeps rewarding them for staying active all year long.
Grouper partners with health plans that offer their members activity benefits. Research shows that joining groups like the Escapees RV Club improves your mental, physical and social health. It’s called “Social Fitness,” and it’s time to let your current health plan reward you for something you already knew, RVing is good for your health.
There is no catch – Grouper recognizes the importance of social connections as we age and is committed to bringing people together and rewarding their activity. By signing up with Grouper and providing their health plan member ID, eligible Escapees members will receive an initial $50 payment to reimburse their membership dues, and then $20 every three months for staying active and reporting their in-person social activities.
Why You Should Enroll
Most of what we do as Escapees and RVers qualifies as social activities. The key is to stay active and engaged with Escapees through a variety of social and camping-related experiences.
Activities must be in person and can include:
- Attending Escapade, HOPs, Hangouts, Convergences or other RV events
- Informal gatherings with fellow RVers whether at a campground or a meal with your local SKP Chapter
- Campground, Park, or Co-Op group activities like pickleball, quilting, hiking, playing cards, cornhole, etc
- Volunteering at campground or your co-op
- Attending RVers Boot Camp
- Attending a chapter or BoF gathering
- Anything that relates to camping counts- even hitting the road to your next destination!
If your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplemental plan is eligible, you’ll receive:
- $50 initial reimbursement for your membership dues. This is paid annually as long as you have accrued 9 months of activity during the prior year (see FAQs).
- $20 every three months of reported activity.

How Do I Know If I am Eligible?
It’s easy! Simply sign up on the Grouper website dedicated to Escapees. You’ll find the link in the Commercial Directory. They check your eligibility with your health plan and will notify you of your status. Eligible? Great! Get started right away. Not eligible? That’s OK. Check back in with them again soon. The number of health plan partners they work with is continuously expanding.
What Information Will I Need to Share to Check Eligibility?
You will need:
- Basic contact information (Name, Phone, Email, Zip Code)
- Health plan information
How Do I Receive Payment?
Sign up and provide your health plan member ID so they can check your eligibility. Once your eligibility and group membership are confirmed, Grouper will send you an initial payment of $50. For each three months of activity after that, they will send $20, if you stay active and keep them updated on your in-person social activity!
How Long Does it Take to Receive My Payment?
You can expect to receive an initial $50 check by mail within 45 days of completing the full enrollment process and being declared eligible for Grouper. Additional $20 payments will be made after every three months of reported activity.
When Do Payments Stop?
You will receive $20 every three months for as long as you are active in Escapees and report activity.
How often do I receive a $50 payment?
A member is eligible to receive the Initial Payment annually on the anniversary of the last initial payment provided that member has accrued 9 months of activity in the prior 12 months. If 9 months have not been achieved, the member will become eligible for the payment as soon as the 9th active month is achieved.
How Do I Confirm that I Actively Participate in a Group?
Confirming your activity is important and simple.
Each month, Grouper will remind you to log onto your account and tell them about your ongoing in-person participation.
Participating in social activities with Escapees RV Club can include attending events and gatherings, as well as joining informal get-togethers with other members. Anything related to camping also counts, such as group activities at a campground (e.g. pickleball, bike riding, nature hikes/walks, cornhole, playing cards, quilting), volunteering at a campground, enjoying evenings by the campfire, attending RVers Boot Camp, getting together with your chapter or BoF, and going on RV tours.
The key is to stay active and engaged with Escapees RV Club through a variety of social and camping-related experiences.
What if I Have to Take a Break From My Activities?
Grouper knows that life sometimes gets in the way of even your favorite activities. As soon as you report three active months (they do not have to be in a row), you will receive your ongoing $20 payment. It helps to report your activity every month, so you don’t lose track.
Is My Privacy Protected?
Yes. Your information is not sold. Grouper only shares your information for the purposes of administering your activity benefit provided to you by your health plan and to connect you with social activity groups, as explained in their Member Terms of Service, as well as their Privacy Policy.
Is Grouper an Insurance Company?
No. Grouper is not a health insurance company, and they do not sell health insurance to members. Grouper partners with health plans that offer activity benefits to their members and encourage healthy and meaningful connection to members like you through social activities.

Do I get credit for all the months I was active before enrolling with Grouper?
Unfortunately, no. Your initial and ongoing payments are tied to your enrollment with Grouper. That said, if you enrolled with them awhile ago, you may be able to receive payment for past activity.
