Each year Escapees puts together a fun-filled “Octoberfest” event at Rainbow’s End, full of socializing, games, and great food. This year’s event is being spearheaded by a group of volunteers at Rainbow’s End with support by HQ and Park Management. This year the event will be kicking off on Sunday, October 15, with KidZone (for those eighteen and under with their parents), a line dancing demonstration, an ice cream social where highlights of Octoberfest will be discussed, followed by your choice of Bingo, a family friendly campfire, or an adult campfire.
The next day features an event “Remembering Kay Peterson,” a treasure hunt, a tour of the CARE Center, games, a group walk, line dancing, and square dancing. The final full day of the event will include a fire truck exhibit, the Annual Bake Auction to benefit the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, line dancing, horseshoes, guided tour of Polk County Memorial Museum and music and dancing to Doc Wall. A hearty Hitch-up Breakfast will be available at CARE on Wednesday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Admission is free; just bring a little extra spending money if you wish enjoy a meal with your fellow SKP friends or participate in the Bake Auction! Mark your calendars and meet us in Livingston for a gathering with old friends and the new ones that you will meet.
KidZone – This Octoberfest will include a KidZone from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. KidZone is being developed for children 18 years old and under who are accompanied by their parents.
